It was a special dollhouse and Stephanie Kondo wishes she still had it.
Her grandfather made the dollhouse for her when se was a child living in Minnesota. Little did she know it would lead her into a new vocation as an adult.
“My grandfather made it out of plywood, leftover asphalt shingles and wallpaper,” said Kondo. “When we moved from Minnesota to Miami, I left the dollhouse to four girl cousins. I was 11 at the time.”
In a Nutshell Miniatures was featured in the March 2013 edition of Miniature Collector Magazine. One of the premier Miniature and Collectibles publications available, Miniature Collector Magazine is published monthly and contains pieces on a wide variety of topics.
While the wives are looking at the miniatures and collectibles, the men are looking at the models and HO scale items at In a Nutshell Miniatures shop. Stephanie Kondo, owner of the Central Florida business, carries hobby trains to augment the miniatures, the Boyds Bears and the doll furniture in her inventory. “It brings people into the store who may not come in if they are not into miniatures or dollhouses,” she noted.
